How to Install FXSSI Pro Indicators on a Mac for MT4/5

Welcome! This guide walks you through the complete process of setting up FXSSI Pro Indicators on macOS by using the Crossover app to emulate Windows. This method will let you use MetaTrader 4 or 5 on your Mac with ease.

What You’ll Need


Before we begin, make sure you have the following downloads ready:

  1. Crossover App – This app emulates Windows on Mac. Download it from the CodeWeavers website: https://www.codeweavers.com/crossover. They offer a free trial if you haven’t purchased it yet.
  2. MetaTrader 4 or 5 Installer (PC version) – Download this from your broker’s website. If you don’t have a broker, we recommend XM. They offer a quick signup and a free demo account for MT4: https://www.xm.com/mt4.
  3. The FXSSI Pro Pack – You can download this directly from the FXSSI website – https://fxssi.com/fxssi-sentiment-pro-pack.

Step 1: Install the Crossover App

  1. Open and install Crossover on your Mac, following the setup instructions provided by the installer.
  2. After installation, open the Crossover app.

Step 2: Set Up a New Windows “Bottle” in Crossover

To emulate Windows on your Mac, you’ll need to create a new bottle:

  1. In Crossover, click Bottle > New Bottle.
  2. Name it something like FXSSI MT4 to stay organized.
  3. Choose Windows 10 64-bit as the environment, then click Create.

Step 3: Install .NET Framework v4.8 in the Bottle

To ensure FXSSI indicators work properly, we need to add .NET Framework 4.8 to this bottle:

  1. In Crossover, select your newly created FXSSI MT4 bottle.
  2. Click Install Application into Bottle and search for .NET Framework 4.8.
  3. Make sure you’re installing it in the correct bottle (FXSSI MT4), then click Install.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions. The installation might go through multiple steps—just proceed with each as directed.
  5. When complete, check the Installed Software section to confirm that .NET Framework 4.8 has been installed.

Step 4: Install MetaTrader 4 or 5 in the Bottle

With the environment set up, it’s time to add MetaTrader:

  1. Select Install Application into Bottle in the Crossover interface.
  2. Choose Unlisted Application, then click Edit to locate the MetaTrader installer file.

  1. Browse to the MetaTrader installer you downloaded from your broker, select it, and click Choose Installer.
  2. Click Install and follow the setup instructions until installation is complete.If you’re using MetaTrader 5, make sure to enable the msync or esync toggle within Crossover for compatibility.

Step 5: Add FXSSI Pro Indicators to MetaTrader

Now that MetaTrader is set up, it’s time to install the FXSSI Pro Pack of indicators:

  1. In Crossover, select your bottle, go to Install Application into Bottle and choose Unlisted Application.
  2. Select the EXE file for the FXSSI Pro Pack you downloaded, click Choose Installer, and proceed with installation.

  1. During setup, specify the MetaTrader terminal where you’d like to install the indicators.
  2. If the installer doesn’t detect the MetaTrader terminal automatically, you can manually enter the custom folder location of MetaTrader.

Step 6: Start MetaTrader and Log In

  1. Launch MetaTrader and log in to either a demo or real trading account.
  2. If you don’t have a broker, we recommend XM. They offer a quick signup and a free demo account for MT4: https://www.xm.com/mt4.
  3. For easy access, you can add MetaTrader to your Mac’s dock.

Step 7: Load FXSSI Indicators in MetaTrader

Once MetaTrader is open, you can access the FXSSI indicators:

  1. Go to the Navigator panel in MetaTrader.
  2. Find the FXSSI indicators and drag them onto your chart.
  3. When prompted, ensure DLL imports are enabled by selecting Allow DLL imports under the settings.

Step 8: Connect MetaTrader to FXSSI

To activate the FXSSI Pro indicators, connect MetaTrader with your FXSSI account:

  1. Click the Attach Terminal button after adding the FXSSI indicator to your chart.
  2. You’ll be redirected to the FXSSI website.
